I don't think the cowl tag on the car I am working (55 Bel Air HT) on is original. The model, paint and trim colors are correct for the car, but the Body ID has it coming out of Tarrytown (23132). The vin has the car being assembled in Flint in Jan 55. Does this cowl tag sound kosher?

cowl tag will tell you which fisher body plant produced the body. the vin tells you where the car was assembled. i guess they could be different cities. would be stupid if both plants are in the same city, but anything is possible. :stupido2:

A point for reference. My body was assembled in Cleveland (Nomad) and the final vehicle assembly in Tarrytown (according to the VIN). From what I have read, ALL Nomad bodies were assembled in Cleveland and shipped to the various points of final assembly.
