I want to install a smooth firewall in my 55 this winter using 20 gauge stock. has anyone out there done this or is anyone producing these yet? I know I need a die grinder and a big hammer. LOL

smoothed firewall

Just installed one of the recessed firewalls purchased through Kieths. Cut out the old firewall, leaving the brace's in tact. welded in the new one along the top and outer edges, whent fairly easy and remained straight. the only thing I don't like is the original firewall bracing which I haven't welded in yet.Looking for some aftermarket products, but haven't found any yet. Any help would be appreciated. Replacing the firewall was actualy easier than I thought!

I love the smooth clean firewall. We welded up the holes . Took awhile but worth it.
