I have Cragar SS style wheels on my 56 wagon. I want to paint the brake drums since they can be seen through the wheel. Where I usually would go with body color, my Wagon is Black and White. I don't want Black and I tried white..... it was horrible!! I know this it totally opinion but do you think Chevy Orange would look good?? I am working a ton of overtime and have no time to even look at the wagon, so I thought I would ask.

After doing them White, which totally washed out the wheels, I shot them gloss gray. While at work I was thinking about it and wondered about the orange. You are most likely right, I thought i would just run it by the forum.

ah, paint them bright silver. :)

30 years ago before anyone was doing this, I got some stainless from the tool shop I worked at. I cut disks to fit in the back of my Cragar S/S wheels. They looked like disk brakes to other people.

Today I just painted the drums black. And my car is pink & white.

:) If you paint them orange, red, yellow or any bright color it takes away from the rims and directs your eyes right to them and not to the car itself.

I used POR-15 black, it gives a nice shine and prevents rust buildup and, you can use a brush and it finishes smooth with no brush markings. I wanted them to look good, but not detract from the overall car apperance.
