i will not buy any of their chrome again. i replaced the grill 3 years ago and it is rusting. just spent 2 hrs cleaning. hood and trunk crome is pitting . tail lights are pitting pasrking lights are the same.i would hate to see it if it was keep out side.now to start replacing with danchuck parts.just had to let off some steam.

You very well could have Danchuk parts now as Ecklers purchases from all the vendors. They do not make these parts themselves.:confused0006:

DW, I believe Danchuk (chrome) 250, and Gene Smith (Stainless Steel) 500, are the only ones reproducing the 55 grill. Has been brought up many times on rust issues.. Lloyd

Show Chrome!!!

I have purchased chrome from Ecklers & Danchuk...only to find out their "show chrome" was NOT triple plated...I just had some items, for my "57, triple plated by a good local plater...had my complete hood rockets. hood bar & extentions, grill bar & tailight housings done...they turned out GREAT!! The plater said when he stripped the old chrome, he found some nickel & chrome...NO copper!!! So if you get new chrome items, be prepared for them not to last more than a few years...get them rechromed right from the start.:anim_25:

I think you are going to find the same problem with the grill no matter where you buy from since they are all crap. Unless you buy the stainless one it WILL rust the first time you get it wet.

The chrome grilles all come from the same place - Danchuk.

door mirrors are also pitting and i bought the good stuff i thought.now i am glad i had my bumpers recromed instead of buying new repos.

DW You might want to give the troops up at Oldendays a call,when I was ordering my replacemaent hood bird,door handles,ect Greg told me they were using a new vendor, as they were not happy with some of the chrome parts on the market.....Fargo might be the name Greg told me.
Anyway hope this might help.
