Would like to use this manifold on a 396 for my '55 Chevy. This manifold came out in the mid-sixties. Would like to know how this would perform on the street. What carbs, cam, etc to use. Anyboby have any experience with this set-up? One thing, it would definitely have "the look".
Thanks

It will definately have the look for a gasser..you will get a little more power with a newer design single plane manifold but with small carb's and a fairly low (4:10) rear gear / higher (3000) stall convertor you will be streetable :)

i ran an offenhauser cross ram with 2 600 holleys on a 427 in 69. looked very cool but performed badly. i changed to single oem retangle port for performance but the cross ram turned more heads.

I agree with DR.Pepper lousey low (under 4500 RPM) performance way down in torque. You'd get beaten badly by 327-350's at theb stop lights. AND YOU DON'T WANT TO GET EMBARRASED DO YOU?:anim_25:
