I picked up a disc brake 3.73 posi 8.8 explorer rearend tonight for $175.00. I dont think I want to cut 3" off of the drivers side because I'm on a budget and I think wheels and tires would be too expensive for a narrowed rear end and I think due to the offset I would need, it leaves me limited to wheel choices. Is it possible to drill out the spot welds, pull out the axle tubes, and switch the axle tubes from side to side to get the pinion centered better? I think I want to keep the width at 59.5".
