:D55 bel air convert with power pack. i picked up the stock black plug wires and i cant figure out the firing order. i have the manuals and i was told i think on this site that the manuals were wrong. can anyone please let me know the order and please make it simple? like from the front of car and from the distributor. thanks all.

It's cast into the manifold right in front of the carb. 18436572

I used the assembly manual diagrams to route the wires, I had no problems. Stock 55 265 with the correct wire loom brackets and grommets. The grommets actually had the cylinder numbers molded into them.

firing order is 18436572, the number one cly. is the driver side front and it crosses over number 2 cly. is the frist one on the pass. side, number three is back on the driver side back and forth, get the number one piston up to top dead center and have the balancer on 0 deg. thats top dead center check where the rotary buttom is pointed and thats number one on the distributor cap and it goes clockwise 1,8,4,3,6,5,7,2 its that simple. Need more help just ask. Later Bill

get the number one piston up to top dead center and have the balancer on 0 deg. thats top dead center check where the rotary buttom is pointed and thats number one on the distributor cap
Make sure it's TDC of the compression stroke, the timing mark on the balancer lines up at TDC of exhaust too...
