Looking for the distance the flex-plate (168 tooth) protrudes into the three inch
starter hole in the transmission adapter. If someone has an engine sitting around with the starter out this measurement could help me out. I have a measurement of 1 inch on the flex-plate, the starter gear is one inch so when I add the radius of 1/2 inch of the gear to the protruding flex-plate I get an inch and a half. So since were working with a three inch circle the starter is just passing the flex-plate. I think the flex-plate should protrude an inch and 3/16 at least to engage the gear. My measurements are by a calipers.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
