I would like to put a Ford 9” rear in a 1955 Chevy Del Ray. I’m looking for help finding the hub to hub width (using disk brakes) that will allow the widest tire and wheel without altering the wheel well. Plus, I will be running a four link to eliminate the leaf springs for about an extra inch of clearance. I have the body on a rotisserie at this point while working on the frame, therefore this is hard to determine. Any help with this measurement is greatly appreciated. Also, if someone knows what year model Ford to find this rear without needing the axels shortened would be great. Oh yeah, the wheel offset measurement would be good information too. Thanks in advance for the help.
