Hi every one, I was going through some of my Dad's things and found some great old Pictures of the 55 from the early and mid 60's. He bought the Car in 1959, some of the first pictures are of it on the Lot. The others were in 1960 after he Hotrodded it, and the few Color ones are from the mid 60's. What a treasure...
I don't know if there is a limit to the pictures here but I'll post as many as I can.

I always heard it had a Truck Block in it...From the Picture, that isn't a Truck Block. Maybe he blew that one up and sometime later replaced it with a Truck Block. Until I take it out I won't know.
Here's me at 14 mos. old in 1967 with the 55.

Here's what it looks like now. My Dad stripped it down in 1973 and Primed it but never got it back together. The rust on it is Surface only.

This was the only other # I could find besides on the Intake Manifold. I think this is on the Bell Housing. I was also wrong about the Carbs., no AFB's, those are Rochesters I think. The Steering box looks like a Corvette Quick Steer.

Great photos & lots of interesting parts on both cars the C1 Corvette steering wheel on the 55 & the use of a Corvette radiator in the 64.Looks like the 64 might have got some sort of factory add on AC system at least at a glance.Looks like your dad was quite the hot rodder what a great photo record of what he did.Sure wish I'd taken that number of pictures & also that I still had the photos I did take back then.My son years later admitted having taken several of my favorite 55 photos to school & never returned.Good luck on the restorations.

I'm going to try and keep it as close to "As Is" as I can. I do want to do some safety upgrades like a front Disc Conversion and possibly Tublar Swing arms and stiffen the Frame. Engine wise I'm unsure... I love the original 60's Hot Rod stuff, I have a Couple of extra Caps for the H&W Ducoil Dist. (even have his Sun Dist. Tester for setting the Dwell on it), I will put a milder Cam in it and drop the HP to about 500, reduce the compression to a level where it'll run on Pump Gas. The only thing I'm unsure about is the Carbs. I love mechanical Carbs, but eventually my Daughter will get the thing and although she is also an Aircraft Engineer she isn't a Car tinkerer. I might put a set of the Dual Holly Snipers on it. That'll be a decision for down the road.

Yes it is, I don't know what Gearing is in it or the Tranny.
I would love to see the 55 put back the way it was when your Dad raced it with no changes. Its cool factor would be of the charts.
