Good morning to all. I have a question, has anyone worked with Ridetech Suspension? I am looking at their strong arm tubular control arms. Any good or bad reviews? Thanks.

I don't know how a coilover setup would help unless I was making right and left turns quickly? Would it?
A spring is a spring and a shock is a shock. It doesn't matter whether you have coilovers or stock stuff if the spring rates and shock rates are the same between the two and correctly chosen. The advantage of a coilover is adjustability and weitght.
In looking at several "budget" priced tubes, I've found that some have the lower spring pocket dropped to create a 2" lowered stance. This is not always noted in the "big print".
Don't get caught with a set of dropped spindles, and a 2" lower a arm drop, when you just want 2".
I settled on the repopped 5* uppers and stock lowers. I did add in the long ball joint.

Spindles to drop, coilovers to fine tune adjust.

Thanks to all who contributed to this conversation. Much appreciated. Marcelo
I'm glad we helped and hopefully didn't confuse you more! I just find that people automatically think "tubular" is better and wanted to stress the point that they might be, but most aren't.

It's wording like this that really gets people confused about control arms. Just what does "performance" mean? It doesn't mention anything about extra caster. For all you know, they may be the same as the old stock ones. Just for the heck of it, I asked the seller ""exactly what does "performance" mean?""

And by the way, I did message the above seller and he had no clue what so ever what "performance" in his ad meant. He said all he knows is what's on the box when he receives them and there were no specs on the box or inside with them.

Thank you Tony. I was once confused but now I am not.
Thanks twin engines, good reading.
IMHO the stamped arms with the additional caster (they come with cross shafts, ready for installation), taller ball joints, and a sway bar is about the 'best value' arrangement.

There are plenty of other areas to spend $ on :)
Yeah. I bought some Tubular arms from A-Team for my 57 Chevy that were supposed to bolt right in. WRONG. And they will not refund my money. I'm now looking at replacing my control arms with factory arms.

Be sure to get the uppers with the +5 camber built into them.

Do you have a source?
CPP makes & sells them but if you want a reasonable delivery time order them from Summit Racing. You will get free shipping & a faster ship time.

Thanks. I've ordered other things from Summit as well as Classic Industries. So far, so good.

DJ's 57, I finally installed the CPP tubular a-arms with the better ball joints more than a year ago, no problems with the front end alignment or with the sway bar. I like the way it handles now and I am able to turn and make u-turns with ease.

After the fiasco with A-Team tubular a-arms, I'm leery of all of them as they all appear the same. So, I think I'm going to stick with original a-arms with the +5 degree camber built in as recommended by 55Tony. Just installed Borgeson power steering. Know anyone who wants some used tubulars? Will need to replace a couple of boots. I'll make a good deal on them.

Thanks!

Considering what you have gone through with A-team tubular a-arms, I would do the same. Good luck.
CPP has or as least or did have two different sets of tubular upper A arms one regular & one identified as a economy set which look pretty much like what are advertised on ebay & other places + the stock style uppers all supposedly with +5* caster built in.I had the better set of CPP uppers worked well with the exception of the ball joint boot that fell apart in six months.I could only get about +3.5* caster on the left side & 4* on the right side.Other than that they were fine.I swapped the uppers to Global West when I switched from stock spindles & lowering springs to CPP C5 Corvette Style dropped spindles Ardan American coil overs & C6 brakes.Very happy with the current set up.
