At some point in my car life I became concerned about the front tires slinging stones against the fenders that are not protected by the wheel wells. How many of you have ever had a bump on a fender from a stone... maybe no one?
I don't recall where (Internet) I bought the 3/16" thick black high density foam, but I cut it to fit all the unprotected areas of the bottom side of the fender. It was hard to design/cut and fit, it would have been MUCH easier to do before installing the fenders. I used contact cement as the adhesive.
Ten years later, the foam is still perfect and no fender damage.
