Dumb question....which fuses make the headlights work? And the tail lights?
Correct, the headlights and front parking lights are on one thermal circuit breaker on the light switch and the tail, brake, dome, and glove box lights are on another circuit breaker on the light switch.

Yes there is a fuse box under the dash and screwed on the firewall. I've looked at the light switch and I didn't see a fuse on there. But I'll look again. I hope I'm not blind haha!

A original 55 headlight switch didn't have a fuse at all, it has 2 circuit breakers. The circuit breakers are bimetal strips with a contact on the end. When too much current goes through the bimetal strips, the contact open and stops current flow until it cools. This is a 55/56 replacement switch which has a small fuse for the dash lights ONLY.
