Seems like there's a lot of crappy new parts out there. When I bought my 57 in Texas I replaced the headlight switch to avoid having problems on the drive back to California, and nearly got run off the road by a semi on a dark highway in New Mexico. Turns out my taillights were out! Put the original switch back in the dash in the parking lot of a truck stop in the middle of the night, it's been fine ever since.
