Is it a good idea to use gasket sealer when putting a carb on a manifold?
Or just set it on and bolt it down. I have new gaskets and both the carb and manifold are Eldabrocks.:confused0006: Been a lot of years since I did any thing like this so my memory slips a little.

I never had used it they don't use it on the carb I would think the gas fumes
would eat it up ?

Nothing but a gasket between the carb and intake.

If you can not seal it with a new gasket without sealer, somethings warped or if your running a holley carb on some edelbrock manifolds you need a thin aluminum spacer and 2 gaskets , also if you do put sealer on it you stand a chance of warping or breaking the baseplate when you have to pry it off at some later time.
