I hope this belongs here. I was told today that in one of my cars, not a tri-five, that because I have the inflow and outflow of my radiator on the top and bottom tank on the same side of the radiator I am only getting 1/4 cooling effect. Does anyone know if this is true or not. By the same side I mean right, not front or back.

It depends. some late models do have them on the same side. but it only works if the radiator is designed to work that way. The way it works is the radiator tank has a wall in the center separating the two hoses. this make the water travel through only the top half as it enters, and the bottom half on the way out. If you have a radiator someone changed over that way and it is not supposed to be like that. then you friend is correct that it will not work effficiently. your car will over heat. the water will take the path of least resistance. and little of it will cirulate through the tubes.
