also paint gun adjustment
Barry Kives, owner of SPI, wrote those articles. He's a great guy, knows his stuff and participates on his company's forum and sometimes on the hotrodders.com forum. He and his son Andy will also answer questions for people over the phone. I've talked to both on the phone and and gotten a lot of good advice from them over the 6 years or so I've been using their products.

Realize that the procedures recommended in his "Perfect Paint Job" article are tailored for SPI products and some of those procedures may not apply to other brands of primers and clears.

Frankly, on the paint gun adjustment article, I found it a little confusing. But, I don't paint that often. I recently bought the same Iwata paint gun that a lot of those guys use and just use the same adjustments for pressure, fan and fluid as they use. I guess I cheated but I'm getting results I've never been able to get before.
