And I’ve got the shirt to prove it!
I keep looking for the pic of where the guys presented it to you, but can not find it

I'm thinking Atlanta would even be worse...I avoid driving through there at all costs.
It is as bad.. Plus, you have to stay at the car, gun in hand, to keep the "buzzards" from stripping the car to a bare chassis.
Bud just went thru the same bs with AAA.
The lady sheriff came to the rescue. She had it towed to the impound yard, as the rear bumper was on the white line. ;) That was a flat $75.
The tow guy then charged him $7/loaded mile for a total of $300.
The battery didn't do well with the charge wire burned off near the starter!

AAA will reimburse you for the tow if the police request it be moved for traffic safety and they can't get there fast enough to satisfy the police.

What turned out to be the problem? Get it fixed?
My State farm will pay up to $100 (as if anyone is going to charge less) But surprisingly I needed a tow, once on the 55 when the starter basically fell apart, and once in my work van stuck in the snow. Both times they only charged $100, I don't see how they can make any money doing the job for that price. The biggest problem is that supposedly around here it is illegal for them to let you ride in the tow truck! The driver actually let us ride in the 55 being towed! Now THAT'S illegal everywhere from what I have ever seen. Actually, I think he finally agreed to let my wife ride in the truck, but I had to ride in the 55 (with a dog or two) :)

I live in a rural mountain area and when i needed a tow i had to call around because no one wanted the liability of dealing with an old car. I use Hagergty as my insurer and they include a tow benefit in the insurance package. You have to join thier auto club and It costs extra, I think it was $70 annually. The tow is good for 175 miles if I recall correctly. I also have AAA for my other regular cars and RV as well so there's no getting away from it.

Just renewed my Haggarty policy and driver’s club membership. No mileage indicated but they pay up to $100 for the tow if I need one.

A "tow guy" buddy of mine has recently jumped from $100 to $150 just to cover his diesel fuel costs.
