Having to rearrange cars to get your projects out.

I know this sounds like a first world problem, but does this drive anyone else crazy? I have to move 2-3 cars just to get the Vette project out of the garage. Every time I think about getting it out, I'm socked with that.

Yeah that is a problem.

How about rearranging parts to find something specific. Even if they are in boxes and labelled. Even when they are even organized relative to a specific car. How about finding bolts in your fastener/hardwares stash? Same issue.

If only we all lived in a perfect world.

I hear ya...I have to move two to get my 57 out and sometimes I put it off but I want to drive it regularly so I tell myself not to be lazy....just do it!
Not here, 57 has pride and joy when garaged

I remember this buying parts cars in the junkyard years ago. The yard operator grumbling that he had to move a half-dozen cars to get to the one far in the woods that I wanted!
Yup, go thru the same thing with my 35 x 50 retirement playhouse, LOL. Have a restored '71 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 4x4, '71 Chevelle and of course the '57 210 sedan. Shop has a roll up door at both ends for a straight thru drive but it seems at least one of the three winds up in the off corner and then the "playhouse shuffle" begins. Need to do a real serious re-arrange, but at the moment recovering from a 3 month kitchen remodel and getting caught up on spring clean up with the two acres. Problems with having too many toys I guess, LOL.
Relatable. My shop is 20 x 30 - so not large enough for dedicated work areas (electicial, paint, engine assembly etc). I keep a lot of specialised tools in tubs. For each phase of the project i have to get out the appropriate tubs and set up for that task. For painting, hang drop cloths, get out the spray guns and consumable etc and place within easy reach. Pack it all up and then get out all the electrical supplies for the wiring phase.

Fortunate to have a shop and hobby cars but cant hurt to dream of bigger and better!
I feel your pain. I have a single car garage and a single driveway. When I want to take whichever classic that I have at home out of the garage, I need to move the daily driver and my daughter's car out of the way. No street parking so I have to wash, rinse and repeat when I come back at the end of my drive.

A further wrinkle is that I have 4 classics. I can only have one at home at one time, the other 3 are in storage 40 minutes from my home. Luckily my storage guy gives me in and out privileges so I can go every once in awhile and swap for a new toy.

Trying to rectify this by moving to a house with more indoor parking but so far we haven't found the place that tics all the boxes on mine and my wife's list.

I too have a "single car garage" but that don't stop me from doing this!

Not to be contrary but in these neck of the woods that is a 2 car garage. Mine is a single car garage as in 9 x 20 foot, can barely get out of your car, 3 feet longer than my '55 garage.

Yea, there's no way to get a full size car in the corner spot (note the size of the garage door), I can only fit the model A or the bug in that corner, but I do have extra room if I only put the A and the bug in there.

I have six garages that are two cars deep, so that's six cars that are a pain to move or get to... and that's one more reason they go stagnant, and then need MORE work because they aren't driven much or at all...
I have six cars (a ‘57 Nomad, a’57 Handyman and an ‘83 Malibu wagon turned Nomad, an El Camino, a Monte Carlo and a ‘57 Cameo) in a 24 x 40 garage. I can barely get in it myself. We are looking to move and I will build a new shop and have at least two lifts for over/under storage to save on space.

I'm glad others get where I'm coming from. 2 of the cars in my way of my project are actually daily drivers for me and the family, but it's just a gray cloud when you get ready to do something, and you see 5 cars in front of your garage bay, lol.
I do this everyday. I even have one stuffed in the car trailer to make a little more room for all the others. that leaves me with another dilema of moving that one out If I need to use the trailer for hauling another toy.
