Keep the bows in order

Take some advice. As you take the bows out number them so you put them back in the same slot they came out of the old one. It not hard. The hard but it is getting it tight as you staple it around the sides that is the hard part. It takes a lot of stringth to get it tight. Start in the center above the rearview mirror and back to keep a straight line down the middle. Just pull out all the wrinkels on each side as you go and staple it and cut off the excess.

The 57 2dr sedan doesn`t staple over the doors nor in the rear either.

My Mistake?

I replaced the headliner in my 2dr. ht. I just figured they were the same. Chevyman57 what holds the liner tight on a sedan?
Over the doors the sedan uses a metal strip with prongs on the back side that it tucks under. In the rear the headliner has a cardboard strip sewn in the hooks under metal tabs in the roof. The only stapled ares are over the rear quarter window and the front.

I can say that all the things I have done on my car the headliner was by far the most difficult. I got it up, but could not get the wrinkles out. Some things in my opinion, are best left to the pros.
