Hello All,

I have finally decided to change out my old points style distributor for an HEI unit. My question is: Do I just take the brown and green wires off the Ballast resistor and connect to the distributor? Or do I need to trace these 2 wires back to key switch and run new wires?
I get nervous pulling and removing wires, especially since the ignition system seems to be stock. Don’t want to screw anything up. Thanks!

You need to run a larger wire from ign1 and 1gn2, on the switch, to the HEI. The original 20 gauge is just not big enough for an HEI. At least 14 gauge.
