Hello everyone, i'm just starting to restore my 57' and I love it, hopefully some of you can help me out :). My dad passed the car down to me 8 months ago. He bought the car in 73' with 47K miles on it from the original owner, it sat in the garage untouched until 78' when he installed a 300HP 350, BW t10 4 gear, 373 gear & crager wire wheels :party0031:. It was driven very little (about 4K) from 78' to 88' and has been parked since. I'm going with modern suspension, all original body, trim & interior (except steering wheel, guages & wheels) SBC/t56 combo. Will post pics asap! Thanks

Welcome from a Texan.

I went through Leduc on a work adventure a few years back. I'd been working on a conversion for a 60000 pound oil field vehicle to run tracks in place of big tires. Bosses said you have to test it in the snow. It's the first week in April and there isn't snow in the US. I make a deal with a guy in Calgary, he says he'll haul it to Calgary on a lowboy, and he has a yard where we can run the vehicle, and there's snow there. 34 tires on the ground to haul that pig. Tractor has 14 tires, trailer has 12, stinger has 6, or something like that. I say Ok, send it on its way, I fly to Calgary to meet the truck and it's 65 F, don't even need a windbreaker, and there's no snow. We decide to head north until we find snow. Drove 600 km through Leduc and around Edmonton, and get on Hwy 43 and go to Whitecourt. There's a couple of inches of snow but it's melting fast. We finally unloaded up by Fox Creek and did our snow test. It was a nice warm day but the snow hadn't melted there.

Great country up there. A fun trip in many ways. Got back and the bosses chewed me out because I spent so much money hauling that thing around on that 34 wheel rig. Oh well, they told me to do it. Had to sort out the import tax after bringing it back too.
