Hi fellow members, this one goes out to the sweedish members I guess:
I just finished my 56 convertible, After 13 years of ..... well you know..., this year, licenceplates and all - exept for a harsh sentence not to wear the hoodbird legally - as it could quote:"poke someones eye out", .
I'm looking for someone in the "Askim" area, or someone in sweeden who knows anything about my car.All I know is that the last sweedish owner was : Eva Sandin, Varpmosse.v 47 Askim.
Heres the car in 86:

Hope that someone out there knows something about the history of this car, please let me know.

Actually,it's a good start on a convertible!
I see no rust anywhere!
2 quarters,2 rockers,2 doors and a front clip and it's a complete body.
I bought a 57 convertible in 1974 in the same condition and sold it as a complete car in 1988.It did have the quarter panels on it when I got it.It had been used as a parts car for another vert.

My Hardtop was once a parts car for other '57s. When I got it, half the non-original 235 6 cylinder was inside the trunk.

Thanks for all the nice comments fellow members, the 56 has really become a great ride. Not a show car at all, but she looks good (for the regular guy at least) and drives well.I guess I should have chosen another title for this thread, as I wanted to know if any of the sweedish members has any recollection of this car. It came from Sweeden in 1986, and it was left to rot untill 1997 when I bought it.
It would be cool to know where it came from and why it was cut up so bad, the frame was in really good shape, but the rest was a mess.
Maybe it had been used as a parts car in the US, and sold to Sweeden as a project - who knows?
It certainly needed more than, as 100%Chevy said "2 quarters,2 rockers,2 doors and a front clip".
The dash was so rusted you could tear it out with your hands, most of the floor was gone, the area between the trunk and the backseat was cut out ( where the drain sill is located). Every other loose part was missing.
You can't tell the state of a car from a picture, e-bay would sell a lot less cars then I guess :)
Maybe someone on this forum recognises this car , you never know, anyhow she's a lot of fun, and she has a lot of topless summers to come.

You guys over there truely amaze me. You will start out with a rusty frame and build a whole car around it.
I can't even start to tell you the respect I have for what you've done.
You are truely a 'gearhead' and that is the best compliment I can give anyone.
I would like to see photos of your entire build. Truely amazing !!!-Keith
