Need to replace the cross shaft bushings for the control arms. I saw a picture of a shop made remover on this forum once, but searched and can't find it anywhere. Anybody have the specs for the length and width of the original factory tool's three pieces and the base?

I can make one on my own, and have a Harbor Freight 20-ton press to use it, but want to make sure I cut each piece the right length.

Figure I'll cut one side off of some square tubing with my gas welding cutting torch to make the tool. Then use a chop saw and grinder to get a perfect fit for length. This job will be a first for me, and I don't want to harm the control arms during removal of the old and installation of the new bushings. I'm following the 1955 shop manual for reference.

Sound about right?

Thanks for the quick reply! That was the picture I remembered! :tu

After seeing your reply, I refined my search just now, and found this thread from a couple years ago... Even better, Pack Rat's post (reply #3) has cut lengths!
