Has anyone made their own adapter using a regular jack. I'm thinking 3/4 plywood, 2 by 2s for cradle and couple of small chains.

looked at a 50 buck HarborFreight adapter, but lift height is high and it's geared toward specific jack size.

I used a square of plywood on my floor jack for a long time before i bought a trans jack to use. Didn`t even use chains on the plywood, just a balancing act.:D

If you have a removable cradle with a 1-3/8" stem, this piece works really well. used mine a few times. As you can see,,one end is open so you can push/slide the trans forward for bolt up, and the sides are lipped so it cant work itself off to the side.

Yea, Mike, got a garage full of tools and parts...except a welder. Anyway, "Tim the Tool Man" is always willing to get a new tool, right?

Had a 700R, deep pan 350 and 400 on it, plenty of room. check your stem size before clicking "buy" if you do decide to go this route.
