We sort of inherited this 55 Bel Air hardtop. We are the second or possibly the third owners of the car. It is in amazing condition and we realize how lucky we are to start our journey with such a complete project. here are the pictures of when we got it back in 2015

So for the last 4 years I have built a full hot rod shop so I can have the right Laboratory to begin our creation.

That gets me current.

So where I am today is the beggining of the build with a fairly serious plan.

Replace Chassis with a Art Morrison program

LS power (LS3)

Tremec 6 Speed

Stock looking as much as possible right down to custom 19" wheels that will let me use the stock hub caps.

That is the plan, now I just need to get into it.

:p3:

plans changed big time. 9/25/2020

Welcome aboard! I got my first 55, a 2 dr hardtop 50 years ago now. Make sure to document the process so you can look back after it is done.

Enjoy the journey!

How about an update?

Well I have been putting away money for a while just for this build. That said as I began pulling the trigger on parts the overall plan has changed.

!st off I ordered a complete interior from Ciadella. Head liner to carpet with new foam for both seats too.

I changed my mind on the afermarket chassis as well. So I am going the tubular control arms, coil over shocks and sway bar with Willwood 12.5" rotors and 4 piston calipers up front.

I ordered a new power steering box as well. I am a dealer for American Autowire so I have a full harness on the bench to stuff in.

Drive train consist of a .030" over 454 mark V with Edelbrock heads, Scat forged bottom end, Comp full roller cam and a MSD ignition capped off with a Holley Dbl pumper. All of this fine big blockdum will be sending power through a Magnum t56 6 speed.

All of this is paid for and on its way to my shop. so I have to get to work and get the car apart and stripped and ready to have all that goodness ready to be bolted up
