I'm having trouble keeping the coil spring in place on the front of the hood latch. I get it installed and it stays put for a couple of hood openings. Next thing I know, it's sitting on top of the hood bar. Any suggestions on how to keep it permanently in place?

Mine original, has the end of the slotted stud that the spring fits over, peened over with a punch so the spring won't come out of the slot. Apparently the repops are not peened to trap the spring.
