I am about to fit up my new hood rockets and notice that the originals had some sealant behind the backing plate. Well, one side did! (The clown doing he right sides of the cars that morning must have been off having a smoke!) Just wondering if using some non-hardening sealant all around would be a good idea?

Or is water going to find its way through there in any case ... in which instance I may as well leave it off and leave the water with a clear run through.

I'm pretty sure mine don't have any sealant on mine. Water does leak through when I wash my car. Mine don't fit that we'll though. Actually they fit pretty bad, compared with others I've seen.:tu

Same here, no sealant under mine.
They fit snuggly into the hood so water leaking through isn't a problem.
Cheers -stu
