I wanted to know if you'd be able to help me out. I've got a ton of axles from 55-64 and I need to determine their year. Here is the information that I have gathered so far. Is it correct? If so, how do I measure the length?

Is this diagram correct in doing the measurement? I read somewhere that the measurement is to go to the outer edge of the pilot. This doesn't make sense since there are some axles with longer and shorter pilots (which wouldn't seem to affect the axle length from the wheel to the end of the splines). Your help would be much appreciated.
