I just picked up my second 1956 Chevy project, a pretty original 150 with the I6/manual 3 speed. I had abandon my first project to fund the purchase of my '67 Chevelle. But I've wanted to build a tri-five my whole life, and, by God, this time I'm gonna do it!

I got a nifty little 283 with Fuelie double hump heads, Carter AFB, Edelbrock Performer Intake out of a '64 Impala with a 1965 Muncie wide ratio 4 speed ready to drop in. At least, that's the short term plan until I get the body and interior done. Then, I might revisit the motor. However, with gas prices, I'm liking the idea of that 283 more and more each day!

Anyway, just a quick howdy to everyone here before I get started.

Welcome T-bone. I have a 283 in my 59 suburban and it runs great. You will get great gas mileage out of yours and that will make you want to drive it more. Put some photos up when you can..
