Has anyone ever taken one apart? When I received mine in the mail, he didn't pack it very well and the rod that passes thru the firewall got broke. I was wondering if it is very hard to take apart and put a new rod in. It's a Ford unit from a 2000 something F250

Does the pushrod have a ball end with the mating part crimped around it? I've heard of pulling the ball out of the crimp and then re-crimping a new or modified pushrod. Seems like Chevynut suggested that, I don't know if he actually did it or just suggested that. Maybe he'll chime in. And maybe I'm dreaming.

If you go that way you'd have to build some kind of puller tool.
