I got to meet "Finallyhavea57", Don and his very nice wife yesterday!

They are great, friendly people! Don took my girlfriend and I out in his turquiose 57 and then he pulled over and asked me if I wanted to drive.

I wasn't too sure, but he wouldn't let me NOT drive it! I had a blast driving my 1st Tri five!

Thanks again Don for letting Ariel and I come over and check out your rides and of course, giving us a ride in the 57 and letting me drive! We had a blast!:happy0030:

It was my pleasure Nick! Nice to see someone your age have a passion for the TriFives. We will have you and Ariel over again and maybe throw something on the barbie. Hope you had a good first day at class too.

Looks like you my have some snow on your way to Tahoe this week-end but should be just on the sides of the road.

Hey Rudy! Still need to meet up with you one of these days.

Don
Yea Don! We do still need to meet up. I was hoping to see you at the Nationals this past weekend. I did get the chance to meet Gary (LININDPAST) and Jim (jswilke) but missed the opportunity of meeting Jim57 when he came on Saturday. Did you come to the show?

They are a real treat to drive. Unlike anything else I have ever driven. You will have the "bug" now. Real nice to let someone drive it. I have done that also and the smile people have after is worth it.

Hey Don, that was a great show of friendship. I've let my wife drive mine, she did just fine. I tell kids at the car shows to crawl in my ride and see how it feels to sit in a classic. They get a kick out of it, and I sure do, too. Charles :wavey:

I am all about mopar, and have somehow found my way into your guys' club ;)

I've always wanted a 55/56 chevy post car. I will one day.

Don, you and I one day will need to go check on that 56 by your place!

Heres an attached picture of my dad and I's Darts... One day I'll have a 55/56 to have pose with these cars :tu

Yours is the blue one right Nick? How come your not in class?

Don

Yep, mine is the blue one. The yellow one my dad has owned since the mid 90s and we'll be keeping both forever.

Nice work, Don! :tu

When's the Tri-5 gonna make it to the garage, Nick?
Most likely within the next 5 years.

The plan is to get a bare shell 55 so I can do a "pro touring" type resto to it.

But before that, my Dad and I are looking for two 68 convertible darts in the near future to make exact twin race cars of.:tu

That's cool Nick- when i was in High school (early 70s) it was all about the rivalry between the big three... but then that's all the options we had then. Some members will say that all the options we still have :)
However you felt about it back then, you claimed to be from one camp. Chevy owners had it easiest- everyone knew that because parts were cheap and plentiful. F**d was the underdogs in my school. -Except I coveted a friends green fastback Mustang :)
But Mopar owners- they were rebels. Their cars cost more and the cars were different - even the keys were upside down :confused0006:
Maybe the local guys didn't know how to keep them running because they seemed to break down more often then the Chevys- but when they did run, look out. A guy in autoshop dropped a large cammed 383 in a duster and it was a terror!
I'll quit rambling, but think I wanted to say they were all pretty cool cars and were all brotheres now. A lot of kids now are missing out by not learning how to turn a wrench. -Welcome to Trifive Nick :party0031:
