Just bought a running/driving 56 Bel Air 4-Door Sedan V8 (not original) 4 speed manual with almost no rust. I'll be needing lots of help as I turn it into a reliable regular driver.

Here it is:

Front:

Rear:

Interior:

My initial list to get it to where I can begin restoring things is as follows:

carburetor (modern 2bbl?? I live at 8500 ft elevation so any advice here...),
ignition tune up (points/plugs/condenser/coil/timing),
seat belts (carpet and front bench latch PS while I'm at it),
windshield wiper motor/switch/blades,
hood latch,
exhaust,
registration & plates (vanity),
defrost/heat,
driver door window glass & PS rear view mirror (both cracked),
weatherstripping,
fuel gauge,
electrical gremlins,
ignition lock,
tires (white walls??)

Then a few cosmetics:
headliner and windlace all around interior,
PS rear door handle inside,
clean up manual switches & junk under dash,
radio, antenna, speakers and rear tray,
seat covers,
rubber bumpers,
speedo/instrument lens,
trunk interior/spare/jack

Then secondary (strategic) mechanicals:
hardened valve seats (unleaded gas),
Suspension shocks/bushings,
Steering (a bit vague right now, suspension update may help here),
Brakes (full disc brake kit?? looking for advice here).

Finally - Restoring:
Complete body straightening, panel gaps etc.
fix former bad bondo on DS fender, PS quarter, hood
minor rust on quarterpanel inside lower rear door frames (no rust ANYWHERE else)
skirts
a little re-chrome here and there
paint! (same as original copper / beige)

That's the 2 year plan...
