just a question: One of the last times we had the 57 (88 or 89)out I was closing the liftgate and I heard something pop and just above the gutter as I closed it the metal was pushed out to form a dime sized "pimple" that actual broke the paint.

Any idea what that could have been and I need to do to fix it??? :dontknow:

sounds like to me that one of the brackets that hold in your torsion rods snapped and shot up at the roof. these have to be removed and are the primary reason behind the liftgates twisting and not fitting the car. you can email me for more details [email protected] , or just do a search on liftgates on trifive to get a lot of info on these things. good luck
