Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help me identify the carb on my 55? Its time for a rebuild and I can not find a single identifying mark on it anywhere. Maybe someone who is knowlegeable can tell me what it is just by looking.

The numbers your looking for will be on a rear side panel located on the drivers left rear side of the carb itself,,,number will begin with 1780.... , then 4 digits...thats the number. I feel old now , where did all the carburetors go ?

Q jet's were noted for leaking

on the bottom of the main body,
the welch plugs, were the culprits,
they make a repair kit, and you can also use epoxy,
common symptoms were flooding after sitting a while,
after being driven.
they are a good carb, and can be tuned to run very well!
plus they offer very good mileage and driveability.
