Want a floor shifter to have the option of manual shifting when racing but also have the option of just putting it in drive when cruising. Ratchet shifter like B&M or Hurst . Don't want a Lokar. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I have the Quicksilver in my 56 also had one in a 70 monte carlo I used to have, both have worked well I don't especially care for the looks in the 56 with a bench seat but needed to move it off the column so I felt safe manually shifting it when I wanted to with a reverse lock out.

Check out Sidewinder gate shifter that Art Carr designed. Shifts easy and you can't miss a gear.

Can the ball be replaced on the Quicksilver as I like the t-handle look. Also is the 5 foot cable too long or did you use a 3 foot one. That Sidewinder looks cool but knowing Art Carr pretty pricey.

The knob can be replaced on the Quicksilver I haven't yet but probably will put a T handle on it. I used the 5' cable as it comes out front & I brought it around & used clips to attach the cable to the pan bolts?

My Art Carr shifter was less when I bought it and they are currently $268 which is a good price for how well it's built and works. It has a park/neutral/back-up switch too.

I had a Quick Silver and hated it...In all fairness though, it could have been operator error...Moved mine to the column.

I looked at that shifter but just didn't think it would be a good fit with a bench seat but I liked the idea of how it works my wife's Avalon shifter is somewhat like that.

The Winters/ TCI/Art Carr/ ATI shifter gets my vote. Never liked a B&M or Hurst Quarterstick.
