Just a little update on my progress....

Finally removed frame. Cut floor out and working on cleaning up the edges. Lucky to have a neighbor to help drag the old floor out. Found that the rear wheelwells were bad and rockers had some bad areas. Was able to cut out bad areas from rockers and weld in new metal but will have to replace rear wheelwells. Project is moving slow, but I keep plugging away.

One step at a time. Sounds like your on the right track, though.
I've been there...took me 14 years to get the 55 going.
