Struck a deal over a week ago! Picking her up tomorrow! It is listed in the classifieds here: 57 210

Had to line up a trailer and a day off to go get her. Looks like the only thing missing is Engine, Trans and the passenger side front Spear stainless.

I'm new to all of this, but my friend Jim has volunteered to mentor me throughout this project. He has the know-how and the tools to do just about anything we need to do.

I hope to get some pics up this weekend of bringing her home. This will be a driver build, starting with the running gear and working our way up from there. My plan is to be driving it within the first year, final paint and body to be finished by the end of year two.

Thanks for all the info here guys, I have already learned a lot as well as gotten some how-to articles from Bob.

Thanks guys. It looked to have VERY LITTLE rust, which was my major concern. Body also is VERY straight.

I envision a Satin Black paint job as temporary paint to ward off any surface rust. Final paint and body will be performed later by my Brother who does paint and body for a living.
Thats a big plus to have a paint & body relative! Good luck with it.

OK got her home. It was an adventure. Pretty much smooth sailing until about 100 miles from home. Felt a clunk, we thought we just drove over something. Checked out the windows, everything looked fine to us. About 15 miles later we pulled into a gas station to fuel up and check things out. Evidently one of the trailer tires lost all of it's tread (that was the clunk). Still holding air, but just a little rubber and lots of steel showing through. Had to find a tire shop, then another one (first one didn't have ANY 15" tires???). TF Tire in Tulare took care of us and got a 8-ply trailer tire from there wharehouse and had us back on the road in about 30-40 minutes. Made it home and got her pushed into the garage UP the driveway (with my 12yr old steering). Man these Tri-Fives are LONG!! I have bout 6" on each end to spare. lol :party0031:

I'm gonna try to get some pics up now. ;)

That thing looks just fine. That will be a great project. Get that 12 yr old involved, I have a 12 yr old son who helps me and it's always fun. Enjoy the new project. I'd say you did real well.

Quick question for you pro's. This is a 210 that a previous owner tried to make look like a Bel-Air. I know the aluminum side panels are wrong for the 210, but did the 210 have all the staineless around the side windows?? Also, was the dash just painted?? Mine has the Bel-air aluminum dash pieces.

I want this car to have the correct trim pieces when I am done.

Wow, what a great car! I'll tell you, being rust free you are 99% ahead of the game no matter what!

No dash trim insert in the 210, only chrome strips on the paint divider line. No stainless around windows, again a smaller line of trim just a bit further down than the window bottoms.

Keep us posted, it'll be a runner in no time!
