Hey guys ,
I'm having fuel pump problems. When I drained my fuel line to do work on the tank and engine the fuel pump sat dry for a couple months. When I went to start the engine with fresh gas the fuel pump no longer pumps. It's an old pump and when I took it apart I found cracks in the rubber bottom cap gasket. I think from being dry the rubber parts in the check valves went bad.
Question is are these easy to rebuild and will the rebuild kits fit the non AC fuel pumps that look just like them or am I better off just replacing the whole pump. All replys appreciated. Jim

I haven't seen a fuel pump rebuilding kit since the demise of "western auto" stores. Maybe someone else knows if they are still available. Dave

Hi, I found a rebuild kit on e-bay under 57 chevy fuel pump but I decided to go with new as I don't know if it would work with my non a/c fuel pump. Bought from Rock Auto
Thanks Jim
