My buddy picked this '55 Bel Air up in So. Cal. for $10K this summer - the PO concentrated on the Drivetrain - we're now finishing the body & interior up. I'm trying to convince/con him into putting a blower on it. What do you think?

Blowers are cool, but they don't come without significant expense if you're going to do it right. On top of the blower costs, there's always building a bullet proof bottom end, converter, trans build w/ steel drum and billet shaft, and of course a real tough rear end. Done right, this can easily run 15-20K in drive train alone. Sure you can build a budget blower motor and cut costs here and there but why go that route and risk it all on cheap parts or something not up to the power one can make?

Sounds pretty healthy the way it is. What's the deal on that build and what's behind it all?
