I bought a new set of body bushings and need help with installation.
There are 2 square bushing s and no instructions as to where they go vs the round ones.
Alos when I pulled th ebody off there was only one bushing in the original spot, all the others were gone. the diagrams are hard for me to figure out which way they go on.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Do you have the correct bushings. Is this for a convertible? The convertible uses all square rubber bushings and do not use the spacer or sleeve inside the rubber. The bolts are not tightened as tight as the roofed cars. The assembly manual shows the sequence of the parts. ....http://www.trifive.com/garage/57%20Chevy%20Assembly%20Manual/1-17.gif ....The #1 firewall mount uses a square bushing on roofed models and round bushings on the other mounts.

Don, It's a 4 door sedan.
I feel dumb for asking but I don't know which way the bushing go in. The steel side goes underneath thethe brackets?

I read your Public Profile and saw your favorite was a 57 convertible so I assumed you were working on it.
The bushing with the metal sleeve goes on top of the frame mount with the sleeve going through the frame mount. The other bushing goes under the frame mount with a washer under it. The sleeve keeps from compressing the rubber too far. If you need shims, they go between the body and metal bushing. The square bushings go on top of the #1 firewall frame mounts and round ones under them. Do you have this drawing showing the bolts and washers?
