Newton Iowa road trip for 2011

Any one interested in planning a road trip to Newton Ia in 2011. We would like to get something going. it is one of the few towns left in Iowa that still has a drive in movie theater. We have not set a date yet but my wife and I were thinking Memorial day weekend. Maybe meet in Newton around noon on Saturday, maybe have everyone stay at the same hotel. Do an early afternoon cruise of downtown Newton( still looks like small town USA back in the day) Cruise to the Valle Drive In(which is not to far from the area where most of the hotels are). and watch the show's. On Sunday morning cruise over to the Iowa Speedway(a short drive form the hotels) and get a tour of the Nascar(nationwide,and truck serise race there, also where the HOT ROD POWER TOUR started in 2010) race track. They give tours of the facility and I believe they still have there own racing school there. Monday morning head back home.

That's something to think about! Be sure to remind us again late winter/early spring if you get definate plans made.

Interested in Newton, IA event

Its funning I inherited two Chevys when my dad died I just brought them from Faser, IA. to Utah. If I could get one ready by then I would be interested. I have a lot of family in Iowa.

That is an interesting plan. I am interested if I have the means like money for that kind of road trip. But for now I am saving my money for some future road trip. :D
