To all,

Just wanted to introduce myself, I'va had a fondness for the 57 Belair ever since I was 10yrs old and now at 38 I finally own one. Its a two door hardtop I picked up from a guy in a town outside of Houston TX. I started the teardown phase of the project sometime in Sept. so far so good, its been preserved pretty good, a littlte rust in the usual places but for the most part its in good shape.

A little bout me, I'm a Sr. Engine Tech. with a company called Pratt and Whitney been employed there for about 12yrs now, Im also a USAF Reserve Flight Engineer with a C-5 unit out of Lackland AFB TX (Lackland now inherited the reserve units due to Kelly closing). I look forward to reading advice and tips on how to put this bad boy together. Take care and wish me luck. Jesse

Welcome to TriFive, everyone likes pictures so when you find some time take a few for everyone to look at.
Back in the 60's I spent several years in San Antonio....basic training, a tech school and an assignment working on research altitude chambers in the Air Force. Fond, fond memories, except for the x-wife, of San Antonio for sure. Once again welcome aboard.

Welcome, Jesse. The last time I was at Lackland was in 1967 for basic training, Flight 258. Enjoy your 57 and welcome to the site.

Welcome

The only cure I've found for 57 fondness is to get one and if you ever sell it you will probably go through withdrawl symptoms - good luck

Officially back in 1999, Clinton lost Texas to Dole but won the re-election so it was either closing a base in TX which he lost or closing one in California which he won.
