I'm pleased at how things are progressing but I'm getting a little nervous about my radiator. I screwed up and thought I could just move the radiator out in front of the tie-bar without a lot of alterations. That doesn't seem to be the case. I don't want to leave the chopped-up bar installed but I already have this 8-cyl position radiator. I have a friend who will move the upper spout over for me and re-weld it properly so I don't have to cut the bar. (see pic). Will I then be able to run the upper hose OVER the tie-bar without notching it? I can make the hose line up with the indentation in the hood brace (baffle). I just don't want to proceed until I'm sure this plan is gonna work. Anybody know for sure? Any other issues to worry about? Thanks Guys. JIM.

Jim, in case your not aware, the top spout on a 57 6 cyl radiator is actually above the top of the tank, so it will clear the top bar.

Great news!

Terry and Don, you guys made my day. I wanted to run a solid bar (stainless) across the car and go over it with the radiator hose. My buddy who does ornamental welding is moving the neck over to line up with the indentation in the hood brace. I never paid any attention to the hood brace until "after" I had already purchased the radiator and threw out the box it came in! What a moron. :damnmate: I just blindly ordered an "affordable" polished radiator for an 8 cylinder assuming it would work! Just got excited about all the "bling" and forgot these things have to actually fit! Go figure! :) Thanks again. JIM.
