original tail pipes

can anyone tell me if the original tail pipes for a 57 Chevy were cut as shown in the attached photo?

Dave i can`t say they were positively cut like that but i believed they were and that is how i had mine done.

thats the way they are. i have a dual exhaust system cut like that. i also have a n.o.s single exhaust system that is cut the same way.the single exhaust is for sale if you now some one that needs it.

That cut is not quite like factory. The originals had a smaller plain wedge cut at less angle than pictured. There is no flat spot in the middle of the cut area on originals either.
