Can anybody help with a diagram for the 57 chev painless wiring? It has a seventy amp fuse. My problem is that when I step on the brakes my dash lights come on. Right turn signal works both signals and tag light when used. Every thing worked when I bought the car and I have only changed the engine & tranny. Don't know of anything else I could have done to cause this problems. Any suggestions?

I agree, it sounds like a ground problem. Tighten the nuts that hold the tail light assy to the body and make sure the bulb socket is not loose in the houseing.

Thanks, I will check the ground. I want to get the lights and any electrical problem repaired before I start changing dash and colum. My goal for this winter is to install bucket seats, Ididit colum, instrument dash, Rack & Pinion steering, new bumpers (front & rear). Then it will be back to work and build up the car fund again.

I had the problem that my dash lights came on when I pressed the brake when I first got my 57. It turned out that one of the wires for the brake light switch was plugged into the connector that went to the light in the radio. But if yours worked and nothing was changes, I doubt that this is the same problem.
