Hey guys, Am going to convert my brakes on my 57 from standard hydralic to power brakes. Can someone tell me what all I need. Am an electrician by trade and don't no beans about converting brakes. Thanks guys

Gene....You can either go single or dual master cylinder system.....I recommend dual.....Here is a link to the kit that CCI has:http://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-p...conversion-kit-for-drum-brakes-1955-1957.html However, you may be able to piece one together cheaper.

Before I spent the money on that kit, I would seriously consider going to front disc brakes for a few bucks more.

rotors, calipers, caliper bracket, pads, hoses, prebent lines, power booster, duel master cylinder, proporting valve, hardware. i got everything in a kit from toms classic on ebay. $400+shipping.

One thing to consider is that if you currently have the original generator / power steering setup on your 57' there is not room to mount the dual master cylinder with the booster. I did upgrade to front disc brakes and dual master cylinder without the booster and it just fit. Brakes work great too!

One thing to consider is that if you currently have the original generator / power steering setup on your 57' there is not room to mount the dual master cylinder with the booster. I did upgrade to front disc brakes and dual master cylinder without the booster and it just fit. Brakes work great too!

I also have manual disk on my 55 & 56 no need for ugly booster here either.
