I am new to this forum so if this has been discussed recently,I apologize.I am wanting to add pwer steering to the wife's 55 Sport Coupe.I am looking at a couple of options that include a 605 conversion or a rack and pinion set-up from Unisteer.Just wondering the pros/cons of each and what types of problems I might expect to encounter.It is a manual steering car now with a pretty stout 350 and 700R trans.I am running rams horn exhaust manifolds and would like to avoid headers if possible.I also want to retain the original column/shifter as other than the updated drive-line....the car remains virtually stock appearing.I am aware that the 605 conversion has been done for years but it seems like old technology with what is available today.I have also entertained the idea of using the original 55 set-up but again,feel that's pretty outdated technology.I also would like to add power brakes to her car....I'd appreciate any comments/suggestions on this as well.Thanks in advance......Daryle

some work will be needed to your column and shaft, and you will need a rag joint/power steering pump and brackets, may have to add a pulley also I think CPP ahs a complete bolt on kit and also has the shortened shaft

Thought I'd post a follow-up.I have decided to go with a rack/pinion set up.I purchased the kit from DFBrakes in Arizona.I will be spending the week after this in the Black Hills with our two 9 year old grandchildren so the parts should arrive before I go and I'll tackle the job when I return.I'll let everyone know how it goes!!
