I am working on a 57 Chevy Belair hardtop and cannot get the hood to go low enough in back(windshield side). Are there different hinges or different hood that I should use. I have the original hinges and hood.

Are the hinges free of binds. If the hinges are too tight or have not been lubricated, the rear of the hood will not go down. Contrary to popular belief, the hinges have to be lubricated to operate properly. The springs hold the hood up, not a bind in the hinges.
If it needs to be just a little lower, you can shim between the hood and hinge under the rear bolt only, to lower the hood.
