Hi there I have a 91 G20 Chevy van with 350 and I’m replacing the master brake cylinder and booster.
On my stock brake master cylinder there is 2 chambers. the rear cap says to use Dot 5
And the front cap says to use Dot 3.
I have never seen this before and have always used Dot 3 on all my vehicles.
the new master cylinder I got through orilley both chamber caps say use dot 5. could the dot 3 cap be a pick a part cap from something else maybe? Thank you so much for your help!!!!

Should be DOT 3. Do you happen to have the owners manual still it will state what it needs.

That’s what I think. I’ve never used dot 5 on any of my early 90s chevys. Just not sure why the aftermarket MBC caps say to use dot 5. Cannot find anything online other than dot 5 is for race cars and motorcycles.
i Think I’m going to just go with dot 3.
